About Diana Young, Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Certified Grief Counselor
I am a Registered and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist with 30 years of experience in dietetics. I am also a Certified Grief Counselor.
Why am I “The Mental Health Dietitian”?
I have a history of depression, anxiety and grief that I treat daily with proper meal planning and self care.
Physicians treated me with multiple medications for my anxiety and depression. These medications had an adverse effect on my mind and body. I was determined to find alternative methods to replace the anti-depressants and anti-anxiety drugs I was prescribed. I now treat my anxiety and depression with nutrition, self-care, and group talk therapy. I no longer rely on anxiety and depression medications. I am not saying you should stop taking your medications – no, not at all. I am just sharing my experience with alternative therapy and will share evidenced based research in my blog.
Grief has also been something I have dealt with most of my life. I was searching for online support and could not find anything that was helpful. In 2009 I created the now popular website “Online Grief Support” with over 15,000 members worldwide. In January 2021 I began facilitating virtual “Zoom” meetings for people who are grieving. You are welcome to join us. You can connect with us at my FaceBook Grief Support Group to talk with others that live with grief every day.
I look forward to serving and working with you! Let me help you live your best life.
